Picture this: you are walking along a small stream, looking for the perfect spot to fish for trout. All around you are trees, and you cannot remember the last time you breathed such fresh air. This is your time off from the hustle and bustle of daily life. Sounds very inviting, no? This is why stream trout fishing has become one of the world's favorite hobbies.
If you still don't know where to find one, you can contact your local Fisheries or Environment offices and ask for some help, which they will definitely be willing to give. Ask them which bodies of water have trout in them, and if you're lucky, they'll even tell you the number of fish present in them. That will really help you find a great fishing spot.
You can also use maps, and I recommend you get the topographic ones. Topographic maps are very detailed and will even show you streams and creeks. Not only that, these maps will also show you how to get to these bodies of water. It doesn't get any better than that.
So you've found your stream, and you're now ready to go catch those trout! But wait, have I told you why stream trout fishing is such a loved activity? No? Ooops, excuse my manners. Let me tell you the reason. Anglers love stream trout fishing because of the availability of many types of trout. You will not just catch rainbow or brown or brook trout, you'll be able to catch all these types of trout!
Getting excited? Well, it doesn't stop here. Another benefit of small stream trout fishing is that trout actually love small streams. Small streams are shallow and cool, which are characteristics trout need their environments to be in order to survive.
Don't let your excitement get in the way of remembering the basics, though! Don't forget to use natural live bait because these appeal to trout more. Also, keep movement to a minimum, and if possible, avoid making any noise.
Ready to go stream trout fishing? Go ahead and look for a stream. For all you know, there might be one just near where you live. Trust me, the experience you're going to get is priceless.
