Trout fishing is a hobby of many an angler. Many try and love it, but only a few are successful. Not everybody goes home with bragging rights. Only a few number of these anglers go home feeling happy, contented and proud.

To help you become part of the few who go home with a feeling of achievement, I have made this article just for you. I'll teach you a few tips and tricks, and even better than that, I'll let you in on some trout fishing secrets. All good fishermen have their own secrets, and I'm going to share mine with you.

When I go fishing in a place that have other fishermen trying to catch trout, I always make it a point to observe what the others are doing and using. Is this cheating (don't tell me you never cheated in school ha ha)? Well, just look at it as a way to help you avoid doing the mistakes of others.

Note how the others cast: upstream? Downstream? Also note what baits, lures or flies they are using. If they are unsuccessful, then use other methods. This will save you so much more time and energy. Instead of doing some trial and error, you go ahead by avoiding what the others are doing wrong.

Another fairly unknown fact about trout fishing is that you should pick your clothes carefully; to be specific, your clothes' colors. If you wear loud and bright colored clothes, do you think fish will approach your bait? Of course not. If they notice you, they'll know better than to take your bait.

Instead, wear colors that will help you blend in with the environment. Wear camouflage, or wear a lot of brown. Here's a trout fishing secret that you can use to your greatest advantage: trout cannot see the colors blue and green, so wear these. Neat, huh?

Here's another secret: trout have highly sensitive sensory receptors. They can pick up sounds and vibrations really easily, so avoid unnecessary sounds and movements. These will just scare the trout away, and that is the thing you would least want to happen.

My sensory receptors are on overdrive right now, and they're telling me that you want to know more trout fishing secrets! If it's a hot day, trout will stay in cooler water, which means that they can be found deeper. Also, use gang hooks because these will present your bait in the most natural manner, which will attract fish even more. And speaking of bait, always go for live, natural ones.

Keep these secrets in mind and you'll surely go home with that feeling of pride and of course, some well-deserved bragging rights.
